Buju BNXN, has emerged the winner of the Headies 2022, Next Rated Award.
In the tightly contested and controversial category, he was nominated alongside Arya Star, Zinoleesky, Lojay and Ruger.
For winning this category, the singer goes home with the 2022 Bentley Bentayga.
Portable, was also nominated in the category before his disqualification on the grounds for f him being unruly and an advocate for violence.
The award show was held in the early hours of Monday at the Cobbs Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, United States.
Also, the likes of Wizkid, Patoranking and Arya Star also won awards at different categories.
Wizkid who was represented by his manager, Sunday Are, won several awards courtesy of his Made In Lagos album.
Patoranking won the award for the ‘Best Recording Of The Year’ as well as ‘Best Reggae’ and Dancehall album categories.
Arya Star won the Headies ‘Viewer’s Choice’ category ahead of several other aristes.
This year marks the 15th edition of the event, and it was themed, ‘Join the Movement’, and it was held outside the country. The show was hosted by Osas Ighodaro as well as American actor and comedian, Anthony Anderson.
