Popular celebrities and other social media users have reacted to the news of the Federal Government’s intended move to ban the consumption of animal skin, commonly known as “Kopmo”.
Mr Muhammadu Yakubu, director- general, Nigerian institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST), Zaria disclosed that a legal action to ban the animal skin was necessary to the comatose leather industry in the country.
He stated further that the consumption of the animal skin, which has no nutritional value, should be stopped to save the industry and boost the nation’s economy.
This suggestion did not go down well with a lot of netizens as many of them are against it.
