Drake – Currents

Canadian rapper, Drake has just shared a new song titled ‘Currents’ off his project, Honestly, Nevermind,produced by Carnage and Black Coffee.

On “currents” Drake speaks on an uneasy relationship that lacks communication.
The first verse is an array of accusations he makes against his lover, while the second verse is a list of apologies.

The pre-chorus represents Drake making another wrong move in his relationship, as he confronts his lover. With the chorus being the aftermath of this confrontation, filled with regret as he realises he has sent their relationship tumbling down the wrong path even further.

Quotable Lyrics;

Don’t think twice
We’re still in formation
Testing the current
Already I’m sailing, it’s all so sudden
Catching a flight
You think we’re moving too fast, I’m
Intoxicated
We can move in slow motion if that’s what you want, babe

I don’t want to come on too strong
But I’m moving to your room now

With every move, with every move you make, babe
I’m tumbling
